A new discovery for me, Paul Ginglinger, from the village of Eguisheim, has produced stylish, delicate, flavorful, dry, medium weight Alsatian wines. The 1993 Riesling Pfersigberg reveals pure, mineral, steely, slate-like aromas intertwined with citrusy scents. Elegant and light-bodied, with good ripeness, a nice inner-core of fruit, and a crisp, apple-like finish, this dry wine is ideal for drinking over the next 3-4 years. The stylish 1993 Tokay-Pinot Gris Eichberg offers a medium to full-bodied, crisp, honeyed personality. It is a graceful, flavorful, buttery, waxy style of Pinot Gris that possesses plenty of acidity for freshness and balance. Still unevolved, it will benefit from 1-2 more years cellaring and drink well over the subsequent 5-6. The exotic, rose petal and honeyed pineapple-scented 1993 Gewurztraminer Pfersigberg is an cuistanding example of this « love it or leave it » varietal. Spicy, with significant body and flavor intensity, this is a welle-defined, graceful Gewurztraminer that should drink well for 4-5 years, importer : Europvin, USA, Watertown, MA : tel.
